Recycling your old phone

At Virgin Media we are working hard to ensure that equipment, such as mobile phones, that's no longer useful gets disposed of correctly. Many of the electrical and electronic items that we throw away can be recycled and reused – saving both natural resource and removing the environmental and health risks associated with sending this stuff to landfill.

In 2011 we recycled over 1.4million set top boxes, modems & mobile phones, equating to almost 2000 tonnes - that’s about 4 Boeing 747 passenger aeroplanes. In 2012 we exceeded this by more than 20%, recycling over 1.7 million products. But we'd like your help to get even better. Whether you are joining us, upgrading your equipment or even leaving us, we will recycle your old equipment in an accessible and convenient way.

If you have an old mobile phone you are looking to get rid of, you can recycle the old phone via the following free post address.

For any other old electrical equipment, you can visit www.recycle-more.co.uk to locate you nearest recycling centre. You can do this because we've made a financial contribution towards developing the UK’s network of WEEE collection facilities. This is what's known as being members of the Distributor Take-back Scheme (Virgin Media Ltd 9585).
