Never miss an email

With our mobile email service, you can check your email and reply on the go, whether you're on the bus, snuggled up on the sofa or waiting for a mate.

Most email accounts work with our service, but there are always a few that don't. You'll need to have an account with a provider that lets you pick up your email remotely, using technology called POP3 or IMAP. Unfortunately, if you have a Hotmail address, you won't be able to use our service.

In some cases, you might need to enable email forwarding. You can do this by going to the website of your email provider, logging in as usual, and choosing the forwarding option in the settings or options menu. Some providers might also give you the option to enable forwarding only for mail that arrives from now on. It’s a good idea to do this, otherwise your phone might try to download all the emails in your Inbox!

Finally, you can choose whether you want to download the entire email each time you check your inbox on your phone, or just download the header. By downloading the header, you can see what the email is about and decide whether you want to see the full message. If you'd like to set up this option, just go to the Advanced Settings or Configuration Options on your phone.

How much does it cost?

If you want a cheeky look online when you’re out and about, you can use our 30p a day rate for unlimited Mobile Internet. A fair use policy of 25MB per day applies.

Love to go online on your mobile a lot? It makes sense to get our Mobile Internet Add-On. For just £5 a month it gives you unlimited Mobile Internet. And that’s all day, every day, all month. There’s a fair use policy of 1GB a month. To add it, just text Buy Data5 to 789789. To cancel text Cancel Data5 to 789789. If you exceed the 1GB fair use policy at any point then your excess use will be charged on a daily rate of 30p per day for any additional days. That daily rate is subject to a fair use policy of 25MB per day and any additional use beyond that will be charged at £2 per MB.

There are heaps of videos, music tracks, tones, pics and games to download too - these cost extra. You'll always be able to see how much they cost before you download them.

* A fair use policy of 25MB per day applies. If you exceed this limit you'll be charged at the data rate for your tariff outlined in our tariff table. See our Fair Use policy for full details.

GOT QUESTIONS? FIND THE ANSWERS

What is WAP?

WAP lets you browse specially written internet pages on your phone. Unlike GPRS and 3G, it doesn't allow you to view images or see pages in colour. But you can read the text and see the pages in black and white.

What is GPRS?

GPRS is a richer version of WAP. You can see text, images in colour. Plus, the service is a little speedier too.

What is 3G?

3G is just a fancy name for a technology that lets you browse specially written internet pages on your phone fast. It also lets you download music tracks and videos to your phone. Plus, if you've got a mate who owns a 3G phone, you can make and take video calls too.
